PR Chance - Considering resign during application

Post by chewie » Thu, 18 Jul 2024 11:06 am

Hi everyone,

I'm currently applying for PR under the Spouse Scheme, it's been 7 months and still pending.
It's making me anxious about the possibility of rejection. I'm also considering resigning from my job. Does anyone know if resigning now could affect my ongoing PR application?
I’d appreciate any insights or opinions on my chances based on my profile.

PR Application Date: Dec 2023
PR Status: Pending

Applicant Profile (Me):
Indonesian (Chinese)
Female, 33
Married since Sep 2023
Bachelor of Arts (Chinese University)
Years in SG (when applying): 1 year 8 months
Years of Work Exp: 10 Years++
Occupation: Project Manager
Pass Type: S Pass
Current Salary : 55K+

Spouse Profile :
Singaporean (Converted from Malaysian in 2022)
Chinese, Male, 33
Degree : Bachelor of Engineering (Australia)
Years of Work Exp: 10 Years++
Salary: 150K+

Thanks in advance!

If your spouse sponsored your PR application, then your spouse should not resign.

Anyway, applying for PR so soon after the wedding is viewed negatively. Manage your expectations accordingly.

Hi MOCHS,

Thanks for your response and advise. It's me who is considering to resign, my spouse has no intention to resign (so far).

I know, that’s an indirect way to say it’s safe for you to resign but your spouse should not resign.
