My company has offices in Singapore and I've asked for an internal transfer, targeting July 2025 as a date to allow time for organising the move with the family (I have a 8 yo kid which will aim to send to an International School). While I think this would be possible, I'm preparing for the eventuality this won't happen - on paper I have the requirements to apply for a PEP (I work in tech). I should have confirmation around Sept - Oct.
A couple of questions I have:
- Am I right understanding that there's approx 2 months (could be longer) wait for the results of the PEP application? If accepted, I would get an approval in principle and I need to come to Singapore to get my PEP within 6 months. Do the 6 months start from the approval in principle or from when I submitted my application?
- Would I have an advantage with prospective employers by having a PEP approved in principle? I would start job hunting if I know my internal transfer wouldn't go through but I'd still be looking to start my PEP application around November - December. I'd be looking at Director+ level jobs in tech (aiming to still be in the PEP salary band)
Thanks for your help
