If somebody else got it quick or slow, that is no indicator of what will happen in your case.

It generally takes a few weeks to a few months for an EP application to be processed. If your application is straightforward and all the required documents are in order, it may be processed more quickly. However, if your application is more complex, such as if you have a non-traditional job role or if you need to provide additional documentation, it may take longer.

Hi all,
My ep got rejected in 3 rd week with reason my education verification certificate is not submitted. Later my employer appealed by submitting the supporting documents. It’s been 8 weeks no result yet. Any idea or inputs ?
Will the public holidays like Christmas Chinese new year like wise will effect the processing time ?

EP approval times vary. Some recent approvals took 3 weeks, while others took 5 days. Generally, online applications are processed or updated within 10 business days.

From mom’s perspective, your employer is the one who should be worried — because they apparently have a position that they need to fill… and they can’t find a local to fill it. Most employers don’t want to rock the boat with mom and will just sit wait patiently.

Hello. My employer applied for my EP on Jan 9, 2025. Today is Feb 9th and there's no confirmation on the MOM page yet. Is this normal under the new COMPASS structure?

My educational docs were verified by a third party too and all seems clear. Unsure of why the process is taking so long.

My earlier EP (applied in 2022) was approved in 3 weeks.

Any advice/insight into this would be helpful

Check with the Agency whether they received any kind of query from MOM or not. If so, ask them did they submitted supporting documents or not.

They haven't received any query. But apparently my application is part of a batch of many other applications too. Wondering if this is the reason behind the long processing time? Or if the Chinese New Year break has caused a delay?

Hi FidhaNazar, I got my EP approved recently — it took about 3 weeks from the date of application. Hope that helps! Processing times can vary depending on the case, though.

Hi FidhaNazar! Timelines can vary depending on the employer, industry, and MOM's workload. If it’s been over 3 weeks, it might be worth checking in with your HR or MOM directly. Good luck!

It’s usually NOT worth checking. You will eventually be accepted or rejected, and in the mean time you should be enjoying your free time. That is what I did… would have gone crazy if I hadn’t.

I waited a full 5 months for my first EP. At first it took 2 months to reject… then the first appeal took another 2 months to reject, and finally the second appeal took 1 month… to approve (barely, and they only gave me 12 months validity).

Go relax on the beach or find some friends to hang out with. Enjoy it while you can.
