S pass renewal clarification

Post by Ahamed » Fri, 10 May 2024 1:16 pm

Hi My S-pass expires 9th May 2024. My company applied renewal in 28th April due to quota issue and got approved by 2nd May and IPA valid until June 30. Next day I attended medical and waiting for medical result now. But my existing S pass expired 9th May. My HR said can’t work until medical clearance and official MOM extension. But can stay in Singapore and wait for the medical clearance. Am I allowed to stay in Singapore ? Am I continue to work ? Please help to clarify.

If your pass has expired and during the time you are waiting for the new pass I dont think you can work. Your HR will also not let you.

No, you are not allowed to work until you have completed your medical examination and received the official clearance. Your HR is correct in stating that you must wait for the medical results and the issuance of your new S Pass before you can legally resume work.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) typically requires the medical examination results to be submitted before issuing the new pass. Once the pass is issued, you will be allowed to work again.

So is there any way? I want to work extra to cover expenses but waiting for extension is taking too long.
