Helpers letting toddlers use phones during outings

It seems like nowadays helpers will let the toddlers use the phone for hours while they'll chat away with their friends in playgrounds, and the kids don't even seem to be playing in the playground.

Not sure why they're not letting the toddlers play instead of using the phones.. I just think it's a really bad habit to grow up with.

It's not just helpers, many parents are just as bad. Common to see families eating out and all of them are staring at their phones. You can't blame helpers if parents see nothing wrong with it. And you can't blame kids for copying what their parents do.

It's a nation of zombies.

Employers with small children should seriously consider phone restrictions with their helpers unless they have a lot of trust. Helpers allowing toddlers to use their phone as a substitute for babysitting is less of a concern than the dangers the toddlers could get into when the helper is glued to their phone instead of watching them.
