Local for medical and hospitalisation insurance

Post by abbby » Sat, 06 Apr 2024 9:46 am

I have a local friend who was saying she cannot buy medical and hospitalisation insurance (NTUC) as she's above 75 years.

Does anyone know of other insurers that has packages for the medical and hospitalisation insurance for above 75 yrs?

Hi,

this includes PR children? I'm wondering because my family was approved as PR recently. While me and my spouse have CPF dashboard that we can access via Singpass, that is not the case for our child. Adult PR can check their medishield status in CPF healthcare dashboard, but there is no way I can check that for my son as he does not have singpass yet.

There is also no Medishield premium bill coming for my son, hence I'm not sure if they are really covered by Medishield.

Make an appointment with the nearest CPF office or better yet, go to the CPF office in Bishan and make an appointment (but if you want it that day, be prepared to sit around for a couple of hours. They should be able to give you the full skinny same day.

I didn't deal with this scenario firsthand but I think they will notify you?

I think if you've been in the GE system for under an IP (integrated plan) you never age out. This only applies to PR/SC.

IME an IP (which is elder/medishield and a private component combined) is worth it. I need very urgent surgery in Nov 23 and GE organised it via their concierge service in a matter of days. They covered 95% of the bill (which was close to 100k).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
