PR approval chances 2024

Post by bananap » Tue, 02 Apr 2024 1:07 pm

Hi all,

We applied last December 2023 and it is currently "Pending".

While we wait, would appreciate your input regarding our PR approval chances:

(me) Husband:
- Indonesian malay
- 29 yo
- EP since 2021 (but moved company in 2022)
- annual $140k
- software engineer at a small tech startup, SG registered (founder and director is a PR)

Wife:
- Indonesian malay
- 28 yo
- Got masters degree from NUS in 2023
- EP ever since
- annual $45k + variable
- architectural designer at a small local firm (founders and directors are SC + PR)

- No kids

Also, I'm currently seeking to move company to bigger enterprises (may or may not come with pay increase), do you think that would increase our chance?

Thanks

You will eventually get it, but may not be on the first attempt.

May I ask what factor made you say so?

Probably ethnicity. It's much easier for Indonesian Chinese to gain PR than for ethnic Indonesians. I have known some however, most (not all) of them were trailing spouses married to other races/nationalities with families. I tend to concur with SF on this.
