Woke International Schools in Singapore and gender identifying problems in relation to bathroom usage

Post by DZY » Sat, 23 Mar 2024 9:11 pm

Dear parents, from your personal experience, which International Schools in Singapore actually have policies that allow males who identity as females to use female bathrooms and changing rooms? (i.e. no separate unisex bathrooms for trans identifying kids)

I was hoping to send my child to a school that I like, but just found out that the school's policy enforces female identifying biological males to enter female bathrooms (and vice versa).

I am surprised that this is even happening within a conservative country like Singapore. Would appreciate your input.

Sounds like SAS. Singapore is conservative, but the International Schools are much like embassies. they are exempt from most restrictions as with few exceptions (if any) Local are not allowed to enroll their children into International Schools. Sadly, it won't be too long before the other International schools follow the same BS with the possible exceptions of the church based schools.

My kid has attended SAS for years and still does. You're right, boys who identify as girls are allowed in girl's bathrooms at SAS and vice versa, instead of giving them unisex bathrooms for those who identify as the opposite sex.

This same idea was initially proposed by the Australian International School in Singapore, but the Australian parents protested strongly against it so it did not come to pass. For some reason, parents are oddly silent about this happening at SAS.

The problem is that many of the US teachers who teach at SAS are part of the LGBTQ community. So they are naturally pushing their own agenda to protect themselves mostly, less so the students. My kid and his friends also tell us that there are Rainbow and Trans flags scattered across the school behind closed doors all year round, not just during pride month in June. This was done to create a "safe space" for LGBTQ teachers mostly and some students.

I'm also told by other parents that the teachers and counselors there keep secrets of the student's gender issues from their parents. So parents who are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to SAS could be kept in the dark for years without the SAS teachers telling them anything. Parents only find out when their kid turns 18 years old and suddenly wants to transition to the opposite sex. The indoctrination and damage to the child would have already been inflicted by then. But knowing these teachers / "professional" counselors, they would go to the extent of suggesting that no damage has been done and the child is actually 'discovering' him/herself!

My kid also tells me that the worst part is the LGBTQ indoctrination and grooming sessions for students of their "Health" class, which teaches that "sex is assigned at birth" and that there are "hundreds to thousands of genders one can choose from" within the galaxy of genders. "Sex assigned at birth" is a highly contested ideology that SAS teaches as one hundred percent Fact, not theory. It's strange because if Christian and Islamic ideology are left out in schools, shouldn't LGBTQ ideology also be left out of schools too?

Anyone knows International Schools that are non-woke? Or even better, International School take a strong stance against this?

It really seems to me that many schools are deep into this woke ideology.
Even schools like Dulwich seem to have been infiltrated by this and are bragging about their full-blown, multi-year DEI program and special dedicated DEI consultants.

Would appreciate your views and suggestions.

The only "non-woke" schools, as you put it, are local schools.

Local schools are not the ONLY option. The International Community School (ICS) is definitely non-woke, except in the biblical sense.

You don't even know what "woke" means, do you?
