Young SPass holder wanting to change job, is it difficult nowadays?

Post by 1miltothewin » Wed, 13 Mar 2024 12:33 pm

Hi everyone, basically I'm a 20+ male living in Singapore for 10 years. I studied Sec school to poly here but I wasn't given a PR. Only student pass and now an S Pass to commence my work and serve my tuition grant for 3 years.

However, working in my company is not fun anymore. It's stressful and I feel like my company is taking advantage of the foreigner situations (literally 90% of my company is foreigner and I'm not sure how they got away with it) so all of the HR rules and whatnot is just purely bad. I need a new company to work in now.

I've been in this company for 1 year and i'm planning to change a company. Currently I'm in the design industry so I know most of the companies around me are bad too. Hence, I'm trying out to change industry like Data Analyst. I've been doing something like that in my poly days and I have some experience. Not looking for a big jump in salary but just to be in a better place and some career progress.

So my questions are, how hard is it to change companies especially when jumping to a different industry. BTW, I know SPass is supposed to be 3k minimum salary, but I'm given way lower than that. It's because of my tuition grant bond, MOM seemed to allow giving me a lower salary.

Thanks!
