If you just want to make dinner, then buy some spaghetti and a jar of Ragu sauce. You can brown onions, garlic, and meat if you want.

If you want to have fun with her, then go to Borders or Takashamaya and by a beginner's cookbook, maybe even one with pictures. Pick out a dish, buy the ingredients, and a bottle of wine. Enjoy the evening making the dish, allowing her to give you pointers.

can I help?

Recipe for 'Pineapple Chicken Drumsticks'.............You need

8 chicken drumsticks
1 small pineapple
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 onion chopped
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, crused
2 small red chillies cut and deseeded(remove seeds)
1/2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup water

METHOD

Prepare the drumsticks by removing fat and bone ends

Peel and core the pineapple, and cut int small cubes ie 2 cm

Heat oil in the frying pan and add your chicken and onion and fry both sides until brown.

Add pinapple and toss it for a minute or so. Add fresh ginger and garlic and red chillie and fry for one minute or so again.

Now pour in the coconut milk and water, bring to the boil. Reduce the heat to low now, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for at least for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.

Now you can add salt/soy sauce according to your taste.

Serve it with freshly boiled rice.

I hope you will enjoy this simple dish.
