PR Chances 2024

Post by Riceball » Fri, 23 Feb 2024 5:03 pm

Hi everyone,

I’m in the process of applying for PR and would like to hear your thoughts and input on my chances of getting it approved:

Age: 27
Race: Thai Chinese
Job: Sales and Marketing – entry level
Education: Top uni in Thailand with 1 year overseas exchange. I speak multiple languages, including Chinese.

I was on an S pass until I got my LTVP approved recently. I moved to Singapore almost 2 years ago following my then-boyfriend, now husband. I got married last year to a Singaporean. He has an okay paying job, while I am just a lowly paid staff (less than 45k a year ](*,) ) but in a respectable company HAHA. We own a nice condo under my husband’s name.

Also, it might be worth mentioning that my FIL has contributed to SG significantly, but I am not sure if this will be in my favor or if they won’t care at all. I wish to get my PR application approved as soon as possible so I could move on and find new opportunities, career-wise.

Please let me know your thoughts on my chance of becoming a Singaporean PR or how I can improve my chances. Thank you in advance!

Ask your husband to sponsor your PR after 2 years of marriage to show ICA that the union is stable.

Apply too soon and it is seen as marriage of convenience. ICA doesn’t care what your in-laws do so don’t bother adding it in.

To add on to this, they don't care what your in-laws do but they do care what your (the applicants) parents do.

I submitted an FTS application recently and there were very detailed questions asking where my parents work, type of work and salary.

But you are Chinese and married to a Singaporean so your chance is quite high. Just wait the 2 years of marriage if you want to be extra safe.

So many things in your favor :
1. Chinese
2. Married to a Singaporean
3. Age - potential to increase the population
4. Stable employment

As others have stated - apply under FTS after 2 years of marriage. Shouldn't be any hiccups.
