Greetings everyone.
I am currently renting a room and am staying with a few house mates.
Our tenancy agreement had indicated that cleaning fee should apply when moving out at the end of the lease.
The cleaning fee amount was indicated on the agreement.
One of my house mate's lease will be expiring soon, and the landlord informed her that they will be increasing the cleaning fee, should she decides to end the lease.
Does this constitute to a breach of the tenancy agreement?
Since the exact amount have had been indicated in the agreement previously.
Can the landlord just increase the cleaning fee like that?
Thanks.

If the cleaning fee is indicated in the agreement and the agreement is still in force. Reply to Landlord that she will only pay the amount as indicated in the agreement.

A month of rental deposit have been paid to the landlord during the commencement of the lease, and shall be repaid back to the tenant upon the end of the lease.
With that, the cleaning fee will be deducted directly from the rental deposit.
Is there anything we tenants can do should the landlord decides to go ahead with the increased cleaning fee?

You can lodge a case at the Small Claims Tribunal online. But if the difference is too small an amount, it might not be worth it.
