The corruption charges allege that in September and December 2022, Iswaran obtained from Ong Beng Seng gratification worth more than S$166,200 to advance Ong's business interests relating to a contract between Singapore GP and the Singapore Tourism Board.
The second charge includes a proposal for a contract with the tourism board.
He is also facing 24 charges of receiving a valuable thing as a public servant.
The remaining charge is for obstructing the course of justice.

What he did seems less unethical than the Ridout Road affair. I suspect he's being thrown under the bus to distract attention from the real corruption in the PAP.

His resignation and trial are showing to the general public that the ruling party is intolerant to any form of gratification or corruption. This will cast a positive image for the party.
Nevertheless, without Iswaran, West Coast GRC will be hotly contested in the next GE.

Yes, what a great opportunity for Singapore to show how clean the PAP is, and how independent is the CPIB and judiciary. Just what is needed after all the recent scandals. These guys are PR masters, well worth their million dollar salaries.

I'm not sure it's that clear cut. Both put a bad taste in my mouth.

Wasn't even a very good MP from what I've heard. A friend who lives in his constituency told me that instead of doing home visits, he'd have his underlings come by and stick a we visited but you weren't home note on the door. Funny thing is my friend was home all day on several occasions and the doorbell never rang.

Whole investigation feels like a farce to me.

What evidence do you have of this "real corruption"? Another conspiracy theory of yours?

I’m confused by the word ‘gratification’ is this in a sexual context?

I believe the gratification he had received from Mr Ong isn't sexual in nature. The gratification consists of gifts, tickets, hotel stay, etc.
