Hi, I am an Indian male (PR), married to a Singaporean citizen. We are expecting a baby girl in March, and I wanted to leverage the knowledge on this board to confirm my understanding how we should approach her citizenship. Ideally, we want her to keep both citizenships for as long as possible, to allow more optionality in future. Another possible advantage is a possible MOE exemption if we want to put her in an IB school (although this is a long shot).
Here's what I am thinking of at the moment:
1. Get baby's IC / Singapore citizen registration
2. Apply for Indian Passport
3. Apply for Right of Entry on the Indian Passport
4. Apply for Singapore Passport (for ease of travel)
5. When she's 18, make the final decision on citizenship; pay fine to the India ($1K) for holding on to the passport for longer than three years
Would all of this make sense / does anyone have a similar approach? Particularly unsure about 4 and 5.
