DSA in 2024

Post by abbby » Wed, 03 Jan 2024 10:26 am

I know one of the main criterias for DSA in Singapore in Primary 6 is that the schools will look at your Primary 5 mid year and end year scores to determine if you are shortlisted. As Prelim results for P6 isn't out. For example, a child with AL15 tries to apply for a school with AL6 Cut off point, though his sports is outstanding. It's unlikely the child will be selected via DSA because of the big difference in AL scoring. Therefore, they will prefer to pick someone with AL6 or close to AL6 score for Primary 5. Correct me if I am wrong, but been seeing this pattern O:)

Speaking of DSA. If I have foreigner kids who are in the primary school system, would I be correct is assuming they are treated the same as citizens/PRs when it comes to admission into secondary system? In other words, they can apply to schools through DSA?

Yes, as I know DSA always look for talents in certain areas.
