Can you travel while in receipt of PR IPA letter

Dear Forum members,

we were pleasantly shocked to receive an early christmas gift when my spouse's PR was approved and we received an IPA letter. However, we had already had travel plans to visit an ailing relative in a couple of days. The letter is vague and states you have to apply for a re-entry permit. Is this re-entry permit for when you have received your actual PR or do you have to have it now in order to be able to come back into country?

As long as PR formalities are not completed, your husband is still a pass holder and you can travel freely.

PR formalities can only be completed upon finishing some of the paperwork that is mentioned in the IPA letter, and then setting up an appointment at ICA. REP and entry permit will be issued during the appointment.
