I've recently accepted a job offer from a mid-size company (i.e., 50+ employees) in Singapore. The salary is, afaik, on par with market rates.
However, the company is not offering any relocation assistance or benefits--no airline tickets to and from Singapore, no temporary accommodations upon arrival. I did not push for it when I accepted the Job Offer because I expected it to be part of the more comprehensive benefits that will be outlined in the Employment Agreement but I was surprised that it was not included in the latter.
This is my second expat posting (the first was in Vietnam) and in my previous experience a relocation allowance was provided by my previous company. Checked with expat friends from other markets and all of them also received this benefit.
May I know from your experience if a relocation package is a common benefit offered by SG companies? If it helps, I am from another SEA country (not MY).
Thanks in advance!
