Post by musical box » Fri, 15 Dec 2023 11:14 am

Why are more people dying in Singapore compared to the average of the past few years?

Long Covid, bad habits developed during the pandemic ... many reasons. Also as Singapore claims to have one the longest life spans (86?) it's possible the excess death rate is due to this life span being too long and maybe it needs to be pulled back.

Be sure to understand what the chart is showing:

"The percentage difference between the reported number of weekly or monthly deaths in 2020–2023 and the projected number of deaths for the same period based on previous years."

It could be just the the projections were wrong (given how the government likes to manipulate people's thinking with statistics, it's the most likely explanation).

Ageing population?
Recent increases in cardiac arrests even in younger people?
