Citizenship Application (Update of Particulars)

Post by JSM1998 » Wed, 06 Dec 2023 2:35 pm

Hi All,

I just wanted to check if someone here has updated their particulars mid-way through the citizenship application and if it ended up helping/delaying their response. For PR applications, I've noticed that my friends who updated their details took longer (1.5 years +) to get their result.

I've applied for my citizenship but have had a large change in income only 3 months after the application.

My base salary increased from 6,600 to 9,000 when I changed my job. The 6600 salary was with $1000/month in stocks but the 9000 is nett cash, so its still about a 30% increment in salary which I feel should help my application.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Thanks so much in advance.

As you already have PR, I don't think the large salary jump will affect the outcome one way or the other as you already passed the income hurdle to get PR. Letting them know, in your case, would probably have some benefit. But somebody on say EP salary close to PEP levels getting a 30% increase could, depending on Industry & some other considerations +/- as it might appear to look like a potential flight risk. Where you are at currently I reckon it wouldn't hurt and 'may' have some benefit. Worth the risk, from where I'm sitting. Other's may feel differently.

Hey thanks for your reply!

I actually tried to email ICA and they said something very vague like "you may update your particulars for our review".

I guess I'll just submit my first full month pay-slip and company letter when I have it and see how it goes.
