Hi all,
I applied for PR in June 2023 and then shortly after changed my job (and ofc, informed ICA with annex A and a letter justifying the switch). I wanted to check if this affects the timeline of approval - in other words, will ICA now wait for 6 months of payslips from my new employer before even considering my application? Or will it not be the case as I already submitted payslips (and letter of recommendation) from previous employer?
Any insight / help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Updating your job switch will not likely affect the timeline of approval, especially if you have taken a higher pay with better role. If you have got your first salary in your new job, you can update it to ICA. Its better if you can wait until you get 2months salary slip (to show consistency) from new company and update to them. Nevertheless, ICA may later ask for 6months pay slip even at later stages of a pending application, i.e., for example they may request you to submit payslips when your application is pending for 10 or 12 months, but no one knows. But, they may not stall your application for 6months once you change your job.
In short, just update your new payslip for 1month or more months and usually this will not be the sole reason to affect your timeline. However, there are some aspects that could affect the timeline regarding 'job change', for example, if the job change is not of an improvement in your career path with better role or pay, then that may lead to further re-evaluate your profile which can add additional time. For now, you dont have to bother about the timeline, just update the payslip.
