Anyone can clarify, for grocery items bought in Malaysia, would one need to declare in Singapore's customs? Came across this article in CNA.

The amount of GST import relief will depend on the duration that the traveller has spent outside Singapore. Travellers will have to pay GST on the value of the goods which is in excess of the GST import relief granted to them.
Time Spent Away from Singapore Value of Goods Granted GST Import Relief
48 hours or more Up to S$500
Less than 48 hours Up to S$100

Depend how much grocery item purchase.
If the purchase more than normal household use, likely.
I did purchase IKEA furniture in Malaysia and declare in Singapore custom. Pay GST.
Just remember to keep the receipt.
Not just item bring from Malaysia to Singapore.
Singapore to Malaysia also get tax at Malaysia.
I recall, my Malaysian colleague won a TV during company event. He removed the package and brought back. He said, if in box, Malaysia side will treat it a brand new and tax you. If you dont have receipt to proof, they will just put an amount they like.
If without box, you can just said.. someone give to me, I bring my stuff back to JB, etc.
old stuff no tax.

I wonder does anyone really declare to the custom if he/she had just done $150 of grocery shopping from Johor Bahru?
Curious

Since share prices usually falls after dividend ex-date, isn't it better to buy after the ex-date (rather than buying for the dividends)?
