Noticed there are quite a lot of hoarders in Singapore.
What do they do with the things they hoard at home..? I don't think they can even find their stuff
One sad hoarder story

I have no idea how they can live like this. How is this even possible?
The filth, the stench and the mess .... yucks!

Anxiety disorder. It is treatable but quite challenging. ST and CNA have done some features on the help available, can find on youtube.

As bad as the Hong Kong housing situation is, at least hoarding is not a problem there, because people just don't have any spare space.

One of my brothers in law is a hoarder. His house is an absolute pigsty, with boxes and boxes of things stacked from floor to ceiling. We used to joke that it was kind of like an avalanche because if you're not careful everything can topple onto you.

Doesn't always smell bad, there's a difference between dirty and messy. But yes, don't understand how anybody can live either way.

Weirdly, some people with obsessive compulsive disorder have it manifest as hoarding. They believe that they can't throw anything away, because each object has sentimental value to them, or may come in useful in the future, and therefore have to keep it.

Actually, it's a pretty severe problem, because most people have a normal person's worth of belongings without a normal person's worth of space.

It can be OCD. The items take on a meaning for them and it's not so simple to just de-clutter.
I think I have the opposite tendency - I get disturbed by too much stuff and will go on discarding sprees. My spouse likes to keep everything so between us we make one normal human i guess!

Between the two of you you reach equilibrium!
My daughter has clinical OCD. Luckily hers does not manifest in the form of holding on to clutter. That would really drive me nuts.
