Hello, i just came across this group. I am planning to relocate to Singapore. I am a Registered nurse from Germany. My question is, do singapore employ nurses from Europe. All the recruitment agency i called told me that they don't employ nurses from Europe. But i wrote to the Singaporean nursing board, they wrote i must first find a hospital who is willing to sponsor me. I applied directly to hospital, no reply. During my visit to singapore, has anyone gone through this experience before , i would be grateful for some insights. Thanks for your support

Are you aware that nurses in Singapore are paid horribly low?

No reply because no nurses from western countries move to Singapore for double the cost of living and half the pay.
Are you a trailing spouse? If yes, check with expat focused medical clinics like IMC. I believe they employ trailing spouses that are medically trained from western countries. You’ll still get pathetic local pay and benefits (your spouse’s expat package will hopefully make up for it) but at least you might possibly get a job and earn a little side money.

I know, not first hand though, that some of the UK pediatric nurses got hired locally as sort of high-end/quality au pairs. The rationale is for infants/toddlers to be exposed to the native langue while being taken care of. Perhaps something similar could be also done with a German nurse? If the mentioned survives the employment pass scrutiny, for a German speaking nurse hired by some German speaking expats, it could be even more justifiable.

You should have a look at the Singapore Nursing Board website.
https://www.healthprofessionals.gov.sg/snb
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

It probably isn't worth your effort to work here as a nurse.
The Filipino nurses here all try and move away to the US or Australia.
Poor benefits , shared housing and patient relatives who can give u hell - at least at the lower end of the pay scale.
