The person stated that I had done no research (or not enough) which was not only factually incorrect, but more importantly snarky and demeaning. That is what I personally find to be passive-agressive - if you don't, I respect your opinion but disagree.MOCHS wrote: ↑Wed, 04 Oct 2023 9:20 pmYou can’t hear tone of voice when you read text on the internet anyway. HPforlife’s post was hardly “passive aggressive” to me.
I knew a PRC Chinese with a PhD who failed to get PR and she applied twice in 4 years. She left for Canada and is on track to get Canadian PR now. So it isn’t true that being of Chinese race will grant you PR any faster.
Like everyone said, many factors are involved. Trying to find someone with a similar profile is just a waste of time. Unless your entire family is an exact carbon copy of an approved PR family, all applications are treated differently.
Of course every application is different. But there are criteria that matter more than other and that is the whole point of reading, researching, and asking around. I'm trying to figure out how to improve my chances; how to steer my applications in the right direction. In other words, simply asking for advice here. And I'm thankful that I have already received a bunch of it; although my mind isn't made up yet. I simply don't know what I'm going to do next, probably going to try again for a few years under my profile. And if my wife begins to earn more in the future I might consider applying under her profile.
And in the spirit of sharing information openly with the community here, I will of course keep you informed on the future outcomes. I am not expecting to be successful anytime soon, but I cannot just give up on trying.
