PR chances 2023

Post by French_2023 » Mon, 11 Sep 2023 3:43 pm

Hello there

My turn to write on this forum which I have been reading for a while. I understand the PR criteria are not very clear but would like to check with you my potential chances.

1. Family of 4, both parents working on EP, 2 boys under 6yo all applicants.
2. French nationals
3. In Singapore for 4 years always paid taxes locally.
4. Household incomes : 37k per month at the time of the application. Now it will drop to 29k + bonus.
5. No property here.
6. I was unable to fill information about my family overseas as I don’t have bonds with them anymore.

I applied 5 months ago and I understand it can take a while to find out the outcome.

Thank you !
Regards

Other people have waited up to 27 months for a result, just keep waiting.

You didn’t state the age of you and your spouse.

Chances generally low due to racial quota & high income makes you a flight risk (where you can easily go to another country for better pay) but your sons are potential NS men which may be favourable.

Thank you so much.
We are both under 35yo. I was not aware of this risk on salaries. Thank you for highlighting this to me.

Indeed I expect the wait to be long. Sadly.
Is it mainly due fo high volume of applicants or do they want to check if we stay in Singapore meanwhile ? Thanks again !

5 months is really short, expect the waiting time to be 9-15 months.
Why is it so long? Nobody knows... But yes, there are plenty of applicants each year. This year might be especially bad because of the introduction of COMPASS framework (-> some people will desperately try to stay in Singapore by becoming PR)

After 7 months, ICA came back to me asking more information regarding my family CV.

Good sign or not ?

Do we have a rough idea of how long it usually takes after they ask for further documents / information ?

I keep my fingers crossed.
Thank you !

The same thing happened to me. Applied in last year, after 9 months, I received email from ICA asking for my family short CV.

It has been pending for 14 months now. No idea on when the application can be concluded...

If that is surprising for you, even i too received a similar CV request right at 7 months mark, and after that now pending for over 20months, i.e., more than 13 months after the CV submission. So now you can know the real hurdle. Dont get surprised if you dont get it this time, as you have stayed here for quite short time (for your ethnicity) and very small quota. If you really wanted to become a pr be prepared to stay atleast 10years in sg and contribute. Having a high salary and have 2 sons may not guarantee you to get an approval.

Also, not being able to provide complete and proper information about your family is not going to be seen as a positive. Not sure how they will look at the reason that you are not able to give information about your family. Perhaps, this could be the reason why they ask for your family CV again. When your CV is requested, it can just mean they want some additional information about you. It is not a good sign or a bad sign either, because, there are many posts in this forum where people who submitted their CV also got rejected a few months later.

Who knows, may be you might be lucky this time. Anyway, sometimes i dont know why do people from EU want to become an SG PR as you are never going to become an SG citizen. ](*,)
