Assessing My Singapore Citizenship Chances - Seeking Advice

Post by Maskmimo » Tue, 05 Sep 2023 3:32 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm eager to inquire about my prospects of obtaining Singaporean citizenship. Here's a brief overview of my situation:
  • I, Malaysian Chinese acquired Permanent Residency (PR) status in November 2020.
    • I've been employed in Singapore since January 2012.
    • I applied for PR in 2019, (I didn't apply sooner as I initially contemplated returning to Kuala Lumpur. However, I've grown quite fond of Singapore, and my plans have shifted accordingly).
    • Recently, in March 2023, I submitted a Singapore Citizenship (SC) application, including my three sons aged 15, 12, and 11. My spouse, who holds a stable job in Malaysia, did not apply along with us.
I also want to mention that I am currently in the midst of applying to work in the UK. Would this potentially jeopardize my SC application?

Given this background, I'd like to know your thoughts on my chances of attaining Singaporean citizenship. I am employed by a multinational corporation, and my annual income stands at approximately 200,000 SGD.

Thank you in advance for your insights and guidance.
