If you read this forum enough, you can understand that once a person reaches 40, the number of profitable years left in one's career would be 10 to 15. If you are lucky it may be up to 20 years. It should also be considered that health risks will also start to arise above 40, which means sg has to account for their medical subsidies. On the other hand, if someone is in 30's they may have additional 10yrs to contribute to sg.aquanav wrote: ↑Thu, 07 Sep 2023 1:21 amOops! One more thing you are conveniently trying to hide is your age. Based on your descriptions, it looks like both of you are around 40 or above, which can also be a problematic factor.
Out of curiosity, why is 40+ a problematic factor?
One important point to consider is that, one of the main purpose of pr immigration is to reduce the greying population by adding more younger ones. Not to further add greying population, unless the contribution by the ones above 40 is considered appreciable. By the way, i am not saying that it is impossible to get it above 40, but it looks like the chances will reduce (especially for non preferred races), based on reading a lot on this forum.
