One more thing you are conveniently trying to hide is your age. Based on your descriptions, it looks like both of you are around 40 or above, which can also be a problematic factor.
Oops! Just noticed. we both are 39, son is 3.5.
Out of curiosity, why is 40+ a problematic factor?
If you read this forum enough, you can understand that once a person reaches 40, the number of profitable years left in one's career would be 10 to 15. If you are lucky it may be up to 20 years. It should also be considered that health risks will also start to arise above 40, which means sg has to account for their medical subsidies. On the other hand, if someone is in 30's they may have additional 10yrs to contribute to sg.

One important point to consider is that, one of the main purpose of pr immigration is to reduce the greying population by adding more younger ones. Not to further add greying population, unless the contribution by the ones above 40 is considered appreciable. By the way, i am not saying that it is impossible to get it above 40, but it looks like the chances will reduce (especially for non preferred races), based on reading a lot on this forum.

Hi everyone! As mentioned earlier in this thread, beginning, my application is pending, applied on 8th of August 2023

I have a query. My wife’s business has improved and she has started drawing a higher salary than earlier (5k now vs 3k pm earlier - on DP. W/ LOC).
I’m the main applicant. Do I or should i report this as an update in the application? I have read about updating main applicant’s salary/job change. Curious to know if we can update spouse’s salary change. TIA

No harm in updating ICA.

Hi everyone. Wanted to update here, just shy of one year since applying (6th August 2023), got a rejection letter this morning (mentioning we can continue to stay on our passes).
A few changes since we applied:

1. Increase in business revenue
2. Increased staff strength (especially local)
3. Wife's salary increased

I wanted to know if it's worth making an appeal?

I doubt #3 will change anything no matter the dollar amount.

For #2 how many locals? I know there is a number they tend to look for, from memory I think it’s minimum 4 locals.

agreed, 3 is not much.
No. of locals: incidentally it's exactly 4 (had 2 earlier)

Singapore wants people that have grit and determination, not sporadic and flakey. The actions of the past indicate the latter, especially renouncing PR just because REP wasn’t renewed.

I would try to maintian 4 at a minimum for future applications, but considering this is a relatively new development, you’ll probably want to hold off reapplying and stay focused on growing the business over the next 2 years… come back with a stronger application.

You might also look at how you can give back to society; be the kind of person you’d want as a potential citizen if you were running this little island.
