How many other people do you employ? Or is this a structure to employ yourself?aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 2:47 pmHello everyone!
Been reading through the posts in this forum for a while now. It was very useful (thanks a bunch) for applying my PR earlier this month.
My profile:
Profession: Business - Engineering Services (Power, Oil & Gas etc.)
Race & Nationality: Indian
On EP since 2019
Salary: 150k p.a.
Married: Wife (ex-PR), working (business owner on DP w/LOC), 3 yr old son on DP.
PR application Rejected last year (thanks to a PR consultant who advised me to apply excluding my wife - assuming that's the reason for rejection). Applied again now on my own incl. wife.
Out of curiosity, anyone here a business owner who has applied and got their PR in the past two years? Perhaps with a similar profile as mine? Or if anyone can share insights on the above would be much appreciated, thank you
From your own words, it does not seem like you are including your son in the application. Have you included your son?aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 2:47 pmHello everyone!

When and how was you wife a PR and why did she give it up?
Thanks for your reply. I just realised I didn’t word it right, but yes I have included my son in the application.hopeislife wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 9:20 pm

Anyway, i think it is going to be quite close to impossible this time, because sg does not see an ex-PR with welcoming eyes. Unless ICA can see a very good reason to forget about the PR renunciation of your wife, it is not going to be favourable for you. I hope you know how many indians are praying and dying to get a PR here and hence ICA may not like when people don't value the status and just apply, then renounce, then apply as they wish.
However, i am nobody to comment on your chances and you may know your result in few months.
Thanks for clarifying. I'm not sure what to say. I think there are some examples of business owners getting PR if you search some more. Probably the more people you employ and the more taxes the company/entity pays help (and how they view the business/industry)? Possibly some other factors like age, where you were educated (presumably your wife was educated here), wife's pay, etc.aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 11:14 pmThanks for your reply:NYY1 wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 6:37 pmHow many other people do you employ? When and how was you wife a PR and why did she give it up?
1. Company is 8 years old, and we have 3 employees excluding me, 2 of them S’poreans.
2. She got her PR 19 years ago after passing out of Uni. Her re-entry permit renewal was rejected 9 years ago, at that stage she was told her PR needs to be renounced. Unfortunately she wasn’t guided properly on appealing the case etc.
Why is your wife an ex-PR?aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 2:47 pmHello everyone!

The issue is that it was her responsibility to see to it that her REP was renewed on time. If she was negligent, that's not going to be looked upon favorably either.aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 11:14 pmThanks for your reply:NYY1 wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 6:37 pmHow many other people do you employ? This is a pretty unique situation, I think the only thing that can be done is just to wait patiently for the result. Best of luck to you!aquanav wrote: ↑Tue, 29 Aug 2023 11:19 pmThanks for your reply. I got your point on the ex-PR matter, as replied above , her REP renewal was rejected, and was asked to renounce her PR as a consequence. Post which she moved back to India, where we met and got married. Later in 2019 I got my EP and her DP.
Where was she when the REP was rejected? If back in India, how many years was she there when it was rejected. If she was there the previous 2 years before expiry and there when it expired, then the ICA was right in their assumption that it appeared she was giving up her PR. Done case. I don''t think ICA will reverse their decision because she got married and now wanted to return to SG with her spouse.aquanav wrote: ↑Thu, 31 Aug 2023 11:55 amThank you NYY1, Lisafuller for your replies. I see the REP rejection as a common reply.
My wife had studied here and got her PR immediately after graduating. The REP renewal was applied on time, unfortunately ICA rejected it. Anyways, like you mentioned, best is to wait and see Thanks again!
Thanks for your reply. She was in SG when she applied for the REP in 2015. Most of 2014 in India for her surgery.sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Thu, 31 Aug 2023 1:32 pmaquanav wrote: ↑Thu, 31 Aug 2023 11:55 amThank you NYY1, Lisafuller for your replies. I see the REP rejection as a common reply.

People must think VERY carefully when dealing with immigration issues in ANY country they venture into as each country has their own views and laws. Anybody who doesn't upgrade their knowledge regarding immigration laws in countries they visit or try to settle in does so at their own peril.
One more thing you are conveniently trying to hide is your age. Based on your descriptions, it looks like both of you are around 40 or above, which can also be a problematic factor.aquanav wrote: ↑Thu, 31 Aug 2023 6:20 pmThanks for your reply.
