PR Chances 2023

Post by korosensei » Mon, 28 Aug 2023 11:59 pm

Hi, trying my PR luck for my baby and me. A brief background.

Husband
SG PR
Malaysian Chinese
Currently applying with my baby for citizenship
Electrical Engr
$70k pa salary
Been in SG for 3yrs got his PR on his 1st yr

Me
Spass
Filipino
Applied for PR 2 Times when I was single 2016 an 2019 both rejected after 10mos
Engr at Stat Board
$66k pa salary including bonus
Been in SG for 9yrs

Baby
LTVP
Malaysian Chinese

What is the best option for me?

Option 1: wait for my husband for his citizenship to be approved and ask him to apply me under his sponsorship

Option 2: Apply under his sponsorhip for PR for me and baby

Option 3: Apply PR under PTS scheme with baby

Which option got higher chance? Cause I also got job offer at NZ and if these options doesnt give higher chance Im planning to take it if my NZ employer is willing to sponsor my husband and baby also but my husband is hesitant to leave SG because he got pending citizenship application here.

TIA!

Hi, I have a similar profile with your family.

I am Malaysian Muslim Chinese, Wife is Filipino and my son was born here.

I am a SPR, approve in 3 months when I first applied after working in SG for 3 years. Wife tried once and rejected so she never tried again.

I applied PR for my wife and son together in 2021. During that time my wife is not working. She was taking care of my son. They got approve in less than 1 year (around 9 months). Btw, during that time was covid I had a pay cut so I was earning 50k Annually (I am a Restaurant Manager for semi fine dining)

Maybe try option 2. Don't need to wait for him approve citizenship. Apply for yourself and your child together under your husband SingPass. Then there you can state that your are employed and submit all your employment details.

All the best to you!

In my mind, if it's been a while since he submitted his citizenship application, it might be preferable to wait for it to be approved before applying with his sponsorship, however, the issue is application wait times are hard to gauge so she could be waiting far longer than needed. That being said, if her application is urgent, then it will probably be better to pursue option 2.
