SG needs babies. Married couples beget babies. So yes, being married is better, being married to a local also means a higher tendency to settle down here for good which is what the permanent in permanent residency stands for.
You are classified under “Others” race which has the
largest number of applicants for the
smallest quota. This quota will definitely prioritise a married applicant. Preferably married to a local. Bonus if there are already offspring.
I believe I have spelled it out for you on why you keep getting rejected. Don’t enter a marriage of convenience for the sake of PR though.
Or have a plan B aka migrate to another country that is easier to get PR.
Strange. Provided that nowadays only Indian foreign families can be considered "permanent". And ironically, I am the most localized angmoh you have probably met in your life.
Nah, I'm not gonna marry a local. All they want is money. Better just bang random locals - they are sexually deprived anyway, so as soon as they find out that they wouldn't have any benefit from you, you just move to the next one.
Migrating to another country because of a PR? Dude, you must be kidding me. This sounds so desperate, I don't want to be in such person's shoes.
It's so funny that by rejecting my application, they will approve 50 others who will be from India or any other country which will never adopt the Singaporean lifestyle. But whatever. Thanks everyone for your feedback, although it was nothing I didn't expect to hear.

Why do you think that indian people wont assimilate with the culture and they are not married to locals. I am also here in this country for more than 10 years and have not got a PR..
And your comments anbout asian women here are not acceptable but I know this behaviour is very common within white expats who are considered as top option for many women here.

I'm havin' a ball reading this thread after blowing the whistle so early on the con job. On the one hand, one is dissing indians and whites and others or dissing whites & indians. All claiming to be on one side of the fence or the other. Me? I'm having a nice cup of Masala Tea made by my Indian Son-In-Law who was offered citizenship when he was doing his NS (they then put him into OCS and made him a Training Officer. He's married to my Half Indian daughter who mother is a 100% pure Tamil and yes there was some issue when they were dating and wanted to get married as his parents are still PR (like me @ around 30 years) but they are traditional and plan on retiring back to Kerala but they were initially against the marriage due to the mixing of races and dialects. Took a while but in the end the Father-in-law realized he'd lose his only child if he stood his ground. We all good friends now and I've actually spent time at his home in Kerala. So with me being a full-fledged Caucasian and married to a pure Tamil. I can only silently laugh at this thread and all parties who are having problems. (I have two mixed grandsons ( 1/4 Caucasian and 3/4 Indian) and as of the 19th two mixed granddaughters (half Caucasian/Indian & Half Chinese/Sri Lankan. I'm actually being entertained on this one.....
NB: the smiling smilie's name, is, you guessed it!!! :mrgreen;

I am not born here but I came here at the age of 13. So I consider myself local.

There is time and place for everything.
Forums like this are painstakingly built and maintained by Admins with the intention to HELP PEOPLE OUT.
One may not want to take himself seriously for whatever reason. But respect for the community and the place is just so fundamental.

Oh thank you so much for this useful information, man! It's such a rarity to come across an "Admin"'s advocate here!
I beg to differ though. Forums like this are built by people like you and me AND are maintained by "Admins" (I don't know why the capital letter), but more by the moderators.
And regarding time and place - yes, you are right. So everyone can decide what the time and the place for what he does is. Otherwise - if someone else decides for you - it would be fascism.

Just looked him up, he's been in tons of stuff. Chicago PD, Training Day, Pulp Fiction just to name a few.
How about the other one - the one who starred in Pulp Friction, not Pulp Fiction?
Oh, brother

How old are you now? I must say the phrasing had me thinking you were born here.

Clearly, he meant it as a joke, though it has COMPLETELY backfired on him. We've all been there, and had our moments as new members. Give the guy a chance.

I suspect our friend petergreene is possibly not even here in Singapore at all let alone being local or PR or SGC.. Fact - his posting IP addys and registration addy are all overseas and all or most of them are TOR Exit Nodes located in the EU. In fact, I suspect he might be as originally claimed on his first post, a Male Caucasian from the EU.
