It's been a crazy couple of days. I'm sure everyone has seen the news by now, wondering what everyone thinks about both sets of ministers.
I must say, I was shocked to hear of the relationship between Tan Chuan Jin and Cheng Li Hui. As for the two WP ministers, nothing has been confirmed yet, and I've also seen a number of posts and articles suggesting the footage was doctored so I'll withhold my judgment for now.
A part of me can't help but feel like all of this coming out all of a sudden is a little bit too much of a coincidence, seems like a lot of it is to distract from senior PAP ministers' scandals (Ridout/corruption etc).
What do you all think?

Probably the juiciest news by far in 2023. I am surprised he chose her... well, she's not married so only have reputation to lose, but for him..I mean his family..how are they going to face the world?

And with all the ministers spending all their hours at work, it's not like they have much to choose from so it makes sense that everyone's attractiveness goes up a few points

I think it's time for the PAP to don new colours. They've managed, in the space of 3 years to show us all that they are NOT all Lily White. Maybe they should don Pink shirts like the PM normally wears. At least we know they are now actually human. but damn, if the Speaker of the house was going to be unfaithful to his wife, why the hell didn't he get one of younger new female ministers instead of hooking up with an over the hill 49 year old auntie!?!

I mean come on..... if you gonna play with fire make sure when it blows up it will be something worth reminiscing over.

This is just plain sad, the way I see it.
Absolutely. They've not lived up to their colors for years now.

She wouldn't be my choice either, but I'm just shocked that this has happened at all. Very disgraceful. What I'm even more shocked by is the fact that there are people defending them and pleading for leniency. Ridiculous.

This is American puritanism imported in Singapore. Old timers remember when Singapore was one of the most over-sexed nations on earth and now it's one of the least sexed. I don't see any real issue UNLESSS your platform is on sexual purity and truth and you lie about bonking someone.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I have to disagree. There are 2 key issues. The first is that the nature of the relationships being between higher ups and their subordinates is improper because of the power imbalance. This is what the parties were concerned with.
The second, which is what the public has seemed to zero in on, is the fact that these relationships were affairs. Behavior like this raises questions about their morals, and whether it's an official requirement or not, it's undeniable that politicians are expected to maintain a certain level of propriety in order to be respectable.
