Hi all,
You can find my previous post about marrying my foreign spouse and getting her LTVP back in 2022 here.
I am back with an update on our timeline for obtaining her PR. I hope the following timeline and information are useful for the readers, as this forum has been for us.
We applied for my wife's PR in November 2022, immediately after she completed working for 6 months. We applied under the family ties scheme instead of the PTS scheme. The general consensus on this forum is to wait at least 2 years after marriage, but we lodged our application less than a year into our marriage.
Myself:
Male, Singaporean, 32 years old
South Asian ("Other" race)
Monthly income: 6K
Graduated from a local university
Working in the education sector
Spouse:
Female, 30 years old
South Asian ("Other" race)
Working in Tech
Overseas university graduate
Monthly income: 8K
We lodged the application in November 2022 and did not provide any additional details apart from the mandatory information required in the PR application. Both of us make monthly contributions to charities (not sure whether this had any implications for the application). In principle approval was granted in May 2023. Formalities were completed in early July (surprisingly, there was no queue at the ICA counter, and we managed to complete the formalities within 15 minutes). She collected her blue IC 1 week later.
Cheers.
