Audit career for foreigner in Singapore

Hi all, need your advice here.

I am foreigner and I graduated here in Singapore at one of the private universities in 2022. Been finding jobs but couldn’t successfully land a job.

I have been wanting to be an auditor with big4 and settle in SG.

Currently planning to work in my homecountry in audit field.

What do you guys advise, should I work for few years then come back to SG to find job or study a master’s degree here in sg after gaining some work experience?

How will my future career look like?

Big4 audit firms usually look for graduates from the big3 SG unis, with certain exceptions. Experienced hires from other countries, mainly Malaysia, are sought after as well, especially senior levels and above.

However, critieria are much tighter now compared to 2021 and 2022, as big4s are looking to downsize or cut extra non performing staffs out.

Suggest you to apply as a fresh grad since you graduated from Singapore, if you have not taken your professional papers, ICAEW, SCAQ, then please do so as this will be an added advantage.
