SG citizenship approval chance

Post by justanotherenquirer » Fri, 30 Jun 2023 4:40 pm

Hi all, I've been lurking this forum way back before I even got my PR and now I'm posting my first time here. Trying to see what are my chances in getting SG citizenship, my profile as follows:

Age: Turning 29 this year
Race: Chinese
Nationality: Malaysian
Status: Single (Attached but not married)
Education level: Bachelor's Degree
Income: 52k per annum, excluding bonus, working in an MNC
Length of stay in SG: 7 years, no extended periods outside of SG within the last 7 years
Been in SG since early 2016, got my PR mid-2017 after 6months+ waiting period. Renewed my REP June 2022, and sent in my application for SG citizenship June 2023

Appreciate any thoughts and insights on my case, thank you!

As a fairly young Malaysian chinese, your chances are pretty solid. Arguably, you're a little late to apply since you got your PR six years ago.

I reckon he's got a very good chance. Don't forget he was in lockdown for half of those 6 years where everybody's lives were, for all intents & purposes, put on hold or the back burner as it were. take those out we looking a 3 years and now that lockdown is over he is resuming his journey.. I reckon, based on recent data we've been seeing in the past 12 months, as a M'sian Chinese, he will have it possibly in less than 12 months but probably no more than 18 at the outside. If he should bite the bullet and marry his ''attached" could possibly shorten it a bit (especially if she(?) is ethnically Chinese) But obviously don't marry for that reason only.
