Want to make a bet?? Within the Indian Ethnic group it is so over-subscribed, Indians are not competing with the guidelines laid out by ICA for acceptance. They are competing with each other which is outside of ICA as it is dependent on who else has applied and if their credentials are better than yours. If you happen to catch a slack period (good LUCK with that). Then you might get lucky and not get taken to the cleaners by your classmate who had slightly higher scores or one additional male child. There are only so many slices in a pie at any given time. Due to the sheer numbers of applicants they cannot keep rolling over applications so they are rejected and you are a victim of bad luck. ICA will always take the cream of the crop, at any given time. It is what it is and rightly so.

Hi sgprinsg,
It is quite surprising that you earn around 180K at just 29yrs of age, which is quite good. However, one may feel they have a better chance in getting PR if we have a higher salary and have been in sg around 4 to 5 years.

In reality, it is really difficult to get PR as you come under indian ethnicity and standards are even higher. Mentorship program is done by everybody in some form, for example, a technical staff in a company may be involved in training student intern of some sort from universities.

It is going to be tough for you, but you can try your chance in applying and see if you are lucky to get (although i personally feel that luck plays very little part in PR grant, as ICA will definitely have some good reasons to award PR or not).

All the best!

29 is practically 30, while it is rare to be earning so much, it's certainly not unheard of. With appropriate career progressions and sustained performance, the bonuses and raises can add up quickly.

Sir, I have been following your posts for the past few months (in monitor mode, without having a user account) and would greatly appreciate your valuable suggestions to enhance my profile. I understand that it can be challenging for individuals of our ethnicity, as it also depends on luck.

Well, i kind of firmly believe the luck part is not huge though. ICA does have some value based and merit based evaluation, and luck plays a small part. They do have some reason to approve or reject someone, though this reason may not be something you like.

I would say your chance is roughly X% atm but if you were to stay here X years longer then would increase by X%. Unfortunately your ethnic quota means your chance is X times lower than preferred ones.

Regardless I wish you 1000x luck!

Well, to make it clear, i believe ICA does not approve or reject a PR application based on luck. O:)

@sundaymorningstaple , @Lisafuller & @hopeislife

Dear Group members,

I have a couple of inquiries regarding my employment pass transition and its potential impact on my PR application (Pending Status). Your insights would be highly valuable:

EP to PEP Transition:
1. I am switching from an Employment Pass (EP) to a Personalised Employment Pass (PEP) with approval before September 2023. Will the temporary cancellation and reactivation of my EP and DP affect my ongoing PR application?

Informing ICA about PEP:
1. Is it mandatory to inform the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) about my new PEP?
2. What is the recommended method for updating this information – email, document submission, or another preferred channel?

I appreciate your valuable advice. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Most likely it wont affect the ongoing application

Informing ICA about PEP:
1. Is it mandatory to inform the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) about my new PEP?
It is good if you can inform ICA about the PEP

2. What is the recommended method for updating this information – email, document submission, or another preferred channel?
You can update it through email (at [email protected]). You can attach the IPA issued for the PEP along with it. Another preferred channel could be in the ePR portal under 'Employment' section.
On the other hand for heaven sake, may i know what is your job description and field of working. Really jealous about you getting >22k per month at 30yrs of age  . Man i really should have taken computer science ](*,)

Thank you, @hopeislife!

By the way, my PEP got approved before September 2023. (IPA letter valid for the next 6 months)

Note: Not getting more than 22k basic. 😅
