I am a second year PR and I would like to increase my CPF contribution, is it mandatory for my company to match my contribution? cause my HR told me the contribution is not discussed during hiring therefore the financial budget is not able to increase employer contribution.

No. Only if they agree to it as part of, or an attachment to, your appointment letter or contract.

The CPF contributions ramp up over 3 years I believe. It is unreasonable for a company to be expected to immediately contribute an extra ~20%. You're lucky - in my day it was 20% from day one and often companies expected us to take the hit on the salary so they would not have to pay more.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

Innit the Truth. 20 : 20 Employee : Employer AND for a number of years was also compulsory for EP holders to contribute. And what PNGMK said about the employee having to bite the bullet for the whole 40% was NOT uncommon with the bigger construction/Marine/oil Industries at the time. At least if you wanted to work here, that is.

I would be surprised if on your salary you get PR though.
If your total compensation is 5k per month, then it suggests your monthly salary is below...

NZ pension and CPF issue article

Personally I think this is BS. CPF is savings scheme and not a pension. This is a bad outcome for Singaporeans etc who migrated to NZ.
