netflix - “unable to be used in this country “

I recently got a pop up message on Netflix that was trying to “sell me” the ability to share my account with other family members for like S$6.98 or something close to that.

It might look like I share because I access it from my home, from my in-laws home, over VPN and also on my phone from various parts of the world I might be traveling in… but I don’t actually share my account with anyone.

My daughter lives in the US right now, but still shares a Netflix account with me and my husband. Has been over three months and no issue.

I recently got a pop-up stating the same. It is because you switched your account from Turkey to Singapore. I would recommend you to use a VPN.

For some reason, VPN doesn't always work for me. For example, I'll turn on my Surfshark VPN and set my location to Miami to try to access some of the American offerings, but they still don't show up on my app.

Gotcha. In all honesty Surfshark is kind of patchy. If I hadn't gotten a three year subscription I'd be looking elsewhere. Sometimes the app shuts down on the computer altogether and there's no way to open it as it keeps freezing.

ExpressVPN works . Even for Prime Video which is known to block VPNs. expensive though.
