I saw it. It's crazy how life can change in an instant - one of those featured had been living a pretty normal life for years until it all came to an end one day.jalanjalan wrote: ↑Sat, 27 May 2023 12:09 pmCNA Insider did a 3 part series on homelessness recently (it's on youtube). It was an interesting watch. No drain man though.
Really?? I've driven on the BKE on many occasions but never seen this. Maybe I was going too fast?
You won't see it from the highway. There is a number of well established and very popular hiking and MTB trails along that path, plus a green clearing/corridor and sort of trail on top of the pipes supplying water from JB.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Sat, 27 May 2023 10:05 pmReally?? I feel really bad for this guy, especially after seeing them take all his stuff — probably his only worldly possessions. One of my siblings was in a similar predicament, living in a makeshift space below an apartment building. When discovered, fortunately there was enough time to retrieve belongings before the authorities showed up.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Fri, 26 May 2023 9:37 pmhttps://www.todayonline.com/singapore/5 ... tid=Zxz2cZ
Probably the craziest thing I've seen all week.
Wow, I never knew about this. I always assumed that the highway was nothing but cars like the PIE, didn't know there were trails nearby. I did know that there was a trail leading to dairy farm from Bukit timah Hill, but I'm not sure if it's the same one you're referring to.x9200 wrote: ↑Sun, 28 May 2023 2:10 amYou won't see it from the highway. Agree, I feel for him. He can't go and claim his items for fear of being charged for a living in the drain, but not claiming these items back means that he'll have to start from scratch again, which chances are he can't afford to do. I am amazed at how they haven't found him though, maybe he's still underground.malcontent wrote: ↑Sun, 28 May 2023 2:44 pmI feel really bad for this guy, especially after seeing them take all his stuff — probably his only worldly possessions. I don’t think most people can understand, they just feel shocked and find it bizarre. After that incident, my sibling went back to living out of a car, which is popular in the US nowadays, especially the way rents have gone up so crazy.
I’ve only experienced homelessness once, and just for one night in Singapore. It was a unique experience. I won’t say where I slept, but will only say that I paid nothing to sleep there and didn’t get caught![]()
If he is homeless Singaporean, dont think he will get charge. Likely, will refer his case to MSF.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Sun, 28 May 2023 4:39 pmAgree, I feel for him. Different, but all are interconnected this or that way.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Sun, 28 May 2023 4:37 pmWow, I never knew about this. Yes, that's the one. I always wondered where he sleeps.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Mon, 29 May 2023 4:16 pmI actually know who you're talking about, it's the 7-Eleven along Chu Lin Road, right?
Very cool, I might have to check that out soon. I've got a friend who just moved into the Cashew area and has been begging me to take a ride with her.x9200 wrote: ↑Tue, 30 May 2023 8:00 amDifferent, but all are interconnected this or that way.Lisafuller wrote: ↑Sun, 28 May 2023 4:37 pmWow, I never knew about this.
