PR Application 2023 - Adding to existing stats

Post by littlegal » Fri, 26 May 2023 2:24 am

Hello all! I’ve been a silent reader of this forum for a while, and have decided to share my (unsuccessful) PR journey in the hopes of adding to the existing data set + seeking advice on what to improve.

Info as below:

Race: Indian
Nationality: Indian
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Education: SMU Business (UG)
Length of stay: 10 years
Salary: 4.5K PM
Sector: Advertising/Marketing
Years of experience: 5 years

First (and only) PR application deets:
Applied: 1 Feb 2023
Rejected: 23rd May 2023, but only showed up on 25th May. The “add documents” button disappeared a couple of days before the 25th, and I was able to apply for a new application, so knew right away.

Since I cannot change my race, is there anything else I can improve besides:

- Salary
- Marital status

(I do have a local boyfriend (yes he is Chinese) and while marriage is on the table, I’m not sure I want it to happen this year.)

Thank you to all the wise ones on this forum!

Your nationality/race, salary, and marital status were against you so rejection isn’t surprising.

Do not re-apply PR immediately with the same profile ‘cos the outcome will be the same. General consensus is to wait for 2 years after rejection and improve profile in the mean time.

You answered your own question.

Marry him when the time is right, wait for two years of marriage and ask him to sponsor your PR.

Only get married if you feel ready.

Based on reading a lot of posts on this forum, i thought that indians who did their undergrad studies in local unis usually have more than 95% chance to get pr within few years after graduation. However, your case seems to be an outlier :-k . Quite surprising to see such a rejection within 4 months of application. Not sure why such a resistance from them, but i think there might be some factor that only you and ica may know.

I understand that you want to earn your own pr, but seems like your profile may not be approved for now. Only future may tell if you can get it on your own merit or not.

@Singaporeflyer, I'm 25, I think marriage is not on the table for atleast a few years! :'D I'd prefer to earn my PR on my own merit than lean on my partner :')
Like the rest have said, more years in sg, better pay and better integration may be needed.
