2nd PR application - Public Servant

Post by Dracc » Mon, 22 May 2023 11:31 pm

Hi all! I've learnt much from reading the posts here, so I'm sharing the details of my own PR applications, for those who may need the info either in full or in part! : )

First application: Submitted in Dec 2017. Rejected after 6 months. Applied as an international student in my last semester at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Current application (pending):

Date of submission: 6 Nov 2022
Current pass: EP, started working at a Statutory Board as a policy manager since 6 May 2022.
Wage: ~55K per annum
Highest degree: B.Soc.Sci (Hon)
Past education: local primary school -> local sec -> Ngee Ann Poly -> NUS
Length of stay: 15 years, since 2007
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Family: Only extended local relative. No direct family member in SG.
Nationality: Chinese
Bond serving: TG bond 3 years

The current status is still pending. I will update again from time to time, regardless of the outcome.

Ask me anything! Feel to assess my chances, too. :)

How did you originally arrive/stay in Singapore and what/where were your parents at the time?

Hi there! I came to study and stay with my relatives in SG back in 2007. My parents are still in China, and have never been to SG.

There were some family disputes back then. They separated when i was young and I had nowhere else to go to. The rest is history.

No red flags. It's a matter of time.

To be fair, I wouldn't exactly call the invitations common, so nothing to worry about.

Hello! No I'm attached. Been dating a girl i met at NUS for 2 years. She is a SG citizen, born in taiwan.

But we have no plan of marriage yet.

Thanks for sharing that invitation letters are rare! I do wonder why, and how, some foreign students might receive that letter. I don't think ICA looks at good school grades. Haha.

They (girls) make perfect baby ovens which can produce smarter NS men (in the theory that LKY used to espouse in back in the day during the educated mothers benefits programs if managed to get pregnant (and married of course).

Good evening Mr SMS! If you are referring to the infamous graduate mother scheme, yes it could be a possible factor.

I have heard of stories when fresh graduates of NUS / NTU were invited to gov sponsored match-making cruise trips. Lol.
