EP application - newly incorporated company

Post by ankrish » Thu, 18 May 2023 11:39 pm

Hello, has anyone recently (in the last six months) have incorporated a new company in Singapore and applied for a EP?

Status as of today: Company incorporated and funded. MoM account created and EP applied for an employee. 2weeks later, additional information was requested which has been supplied immediately. It's been just over 4 weeks till date since application was submitted. Status on MoM portal is pending.

Would really appreciate if feedback from people who are/have been in the same situation.

Finally got your approval yet?

Usually my experience is they give an approval in 1 week from the date of receipt of documents

How did you incorporate?

I’m under the impression this can only be done by having an agent being the director temporarily - in which case I would hesitate deposit significant funds to the new company.

Would love to be wrong though!

We used an agent, a company secretary firm. They were recommended to us by our company secretary firm in the UK. It's best to find someone reliable and get the process done. And yes, you need a Singapore director and ours is provided by the company secretary.
If you have any friends and family who are Singaporeans who are willing to take up directorship for you, you can do that too but I believe it's a longer process as they need to be registered etc.
