Singapore citizenship

Post by Aaron2 » Fri, 28 Apr 2023 10:55 pm

Hello everyone! Can you chime in on the chances of me getting my SG citizenship approved? Here’s an overview of my profile:

- Chinese Malaysian
- 25 years old
- Male
- Salary: 45k p.a., increasing to 55k in 3 months
- Currently studying part-time at SUSS (received tuition grant from the MOE)
- Previous statuses/visas in Singapore:
- Student’s pass: 4.5 years (for private school and local polytechnic)
- Short-term visit pass: 3 months (during Covid)
- Long-term visit pass: 2 months
- S Pass: 1 year
- PR ( 1.5 years)

I applied for PR as soon as I got my 6th pay slip and became a PR 6 months after submission of application. Then not long after I hit the 1-year mark, I submitted an application for SG citizenship and it’s been pending for 5 months now. I know I applied a little early but I’d still like to know my chances. :)

Definitely stand a better chance than most applying at this stage. Being Malaysian Chinese makes you a shoo in for citizenship.

Probably pretty good chance. You got PR approved quite rapidly which is a hopeful sign.

Thanks for your comment. I guess I’ll have to wait another 6 months or so for the outcome but I’ll be cautiously optimistic :)
