SC approved (without husband who sponsored my PR)

Post by Mikay » Wed, 19 Apr 2023 12:39 pm

Hi everyone,

My SC application was approved after 6 months of wait. It was a very pleasant surprise as I applied by myself (without my husband who sponsored my PR).

I was told by many people that my chance is close to zero if I apply without him, that ICA would see this as “keeping one leg in, one leg out”. At that time, I couldn’t find much info in this forum about this situation where dependant PR applies for SC without the sponsor, especially when the sponsor has a much higher net worth than the dependant. So I hope this serves to reassure those who are in similar situations. Chances might be slim, but not impossible :)

Thanks Mikay for very good inputs. I do believe one of the reason for your SC to be approved is your Job Profile being in area which is highly required.
