PR rejection

Post by carinj » Sun, 02 Apr 2023 7:34 pm

Hi all,

have been reading the forum. PR application could usually be pending for a long time (over 1 year).

May I know if my profile / circumstance is not a fit at all (e.g. can't pass the min like age, not the demanded job/occupation, etc), does it mean my application will be dumped almost immediately and can get the rejection outcome very soon?

thanks

Hi. My feel is that the initial applications often take longer either way, and that the shorter decisions (4-6 months) come on the re-applications (i.e. lack of substantial changes). However, I don't really know for sure and there is likely a bias in hearing from those when the application has been pending for a while (how long this usually take, what are chances, etc).

Just curious, when did you end up applying? Aug - Sept 2022, so pending 6-7 months now?

Best of luck and hope you can get it.

No correlation between length of time to process the application vs approval chances. I applied 4 times. All 4 times, the decision was made within 6 months - 3 rejections and then approval. And if you read through the forums, there's all kinds of permutations and combinations.

Vs approval chance definitely. How about vs. straight rejection? I applied in early Jan this year. I saw an old post about PR rejection back in 2018. Got rejected within 3 months. Hence, just wonder if the applicant cannot meet certain criteria, the application will just go to rejection bin directly and so can get the rejection earlier.

carinj, yes this is entirely possible. The quickness of some rejections is only because of the overload of applications (or lack of overload) at certain times of the year.
