Hi all,
I'm currently work permit holder in Singapore, Malaysian. I'm pregnant with a Singapore Citizen's child. We applied approval from MOM for marriage but haven't get a reply yet. It has been two weeks and my due date is in June 2023. I understand that MOM will email back to us within 4 weeks but i see a lot of people get the feedback in a week. I really worry that MOM will reject our request because i understand that work permit holder cannot get pregnant here too.
Is there anyone came across cases that MOM will approve the marriage even if they are pregnant?

You answered your own question. Prepare to be banned from SG after you give birth. Maybe make a plan B and live in another country.

If one searches on here hard enough there is a good story about this that I went through with my Nephew's little girl (mother from the 'peens) married my nephew (SGC in the military at the time - she working in a restaurant on WP) long story short, mother was given a LTVP for 1 year to allow the baby to be born here (father SGC therefore baby automatically SGC). After the baby born, when her LTVP came up for renewal, rejected and banned from Singapore. Returned to the 'peens with the baby but after about 6 months couldn't get visa for baby and didn't have dual citizenship so Nephew and to go to the 'peens and bring the one year old baby back here (while in the military and from a dysfunctional family) I took the baby in and she lived with me from 1 year old until she was 14. She only moved back in with her father last August. Mother has never been allowed in the country again. Be prepared for a headache and a personal disaster for both the father & mother.

If I were in this situation, I would seriously be exploring every alternative that does not include settling down in Singapore. I would look for any possible ways/means to get a student and/or working visa in a third country. In some cases you can be allowed to work while furthering studies, and it doesn’t need to be an expensive degree granting institution - some are open enrollment, anyone with a secondary education can apply and get in.
Having a Singaporean child may not even be desirable to a mother who is looking at a lifetime ban. Some countries give citizenship on birth in that country, I believe the US and Canada still do.

If you don't get approval you need to make a quick decision. The child, if born in Singapore and if the SC father agrees, can be Singaporean. The child can also be Malaysian if born in Malaysia (as far as I understand it).
Even if you get approval to marry your SC boyfriend this does not mean you will get PR or citizenship here in Singapore unfortunately. You "may" but it is hard to know.

Hi Thanks for the reply.
Actually, i'm not looking to get citizenship or PR here. I don't mind to continue being a work permit but i just want my baby to have a legal father. Okay, i think what i can do now is to wait for their response.
