That's quite a long waiting period. Congratulations! :)

As an aside, while nothing is easy, the "O" bucket for SC may be somewhat easier than the "O" bucket for PR. Some of the O PRs are likely spouse of SC, and many of them will be very slow to apply for citizenship (if they ever do). While the new SCs issued is ~2/3 of the new PRs issued, the numbers may work out if one can wait long enough.
Yep. You got that spot on. I know. I'm one of them. Although, having said that, I've been giving it a lot more thought in the past couple of years. (especially since now it's a proper category as an aging parent of Singapore Citizens (I've got 6 of them - extended - under my belt, not counting my wife. Two kids (son has done his NS and 4 G.kids. So I am qualified BUT........

Could be. I waited a long while before applying - or more accurately my sponsor applied for me. I think they look even more carefully at the sponsor than the applicant, at least for husband sponsoring wife.

I think spouse of SC (applying for SC) is going to depend a lot on the circumstances. For some, it is probably theirs if they want it (many will not, at least initially). Others are more likely to apply for it, but they may be under more scrutiny.

Anyways, one of you made it through and good luck to the other if you give it a go. I have wondered what the application success rate looks like for those who have been through more of life. There are likely some pros and cons (as it relates to approval), and I don't think there is a large database or track record of how these applications are treated.

@MOCHS yes waited 30.5 months for a result. No correspondence from them either the entire time except to ask for my uni grad cert with transcript, marriage cert and payslips which was about 18 months after application 😅.
Congrats, happy for you! That 30 months wait make me nervous.

I applied SC too last year August under my husband sponsorship (just like my PR application) and still nothing. Wish me luck guys!
