Landlord never respect tenants

Post by Pvvalo » Thu, 23 Feb 2023 4:15 pm

This landlord set up camera in the living room but she is not the one controlling the camera. Who? The son or son in law. And the whole house are full of ladies. So means the son or son in law able to see or view what the ladies doing in the house (living room).

They doesn’t allow strangers to enter the house, which is fair. But the landlord letting the family members ( both gender) to enter anytime they like. So they never respect us as tenants.

It sure does feels like an invasion of your privacy. I think the owner wants to check and ensure tenant does not bring in anyone, hence the camera? Good to have a word to the owner to see if the camera is absolute necessity in the living room. Otherwise, I would think this is just one of the disadvantages of living with strangers.

I agree. But come on. House full of ladies. Why don’t just allow the camera access to the daughter instead? And now I’m seeing another new tenant coming in. Gosh.. another victim? 🙄

Eek, have you brought this up with the landlord?

I'm not sure camera access is necessary at all, why doesn't the landlord trust you?

This is a very touchy subject, as it not only breeds mistrust between landlord and tenants, but can also very easily be twisted into something sinister.

I just found out on Wednesday and I’m moving out tomorrow (Saturday)

She just show her true colours.

Not that she don’t trust only me but everyone in the house.

Who knows. She may well have been burned before, hence her insecurity.

Hmm, then I guess it doesn't really matter. Good that you're leaving.

Still, not sure it's a reason to violate your tenants privacy in this way.

It's unacceptable. If you have a minor in the house there is the potential for underage nudity which is a criminal act.

Ageee! That aside I don't believe it should ever be allowed. I understand cameras that record common areas/areas outside the home for security reasons, but home is supposed to be a sanctuary, a safe space. No one should ever be recorded without their consent/knowledge.

Exactly! Damn stupid. Unreasonable. I really hope to send this message out or maybe alert to tenants out there. Avoid renting this place. So so so so ridiculous!

Well truthfully we don't know your landlord/place so no one can avoid it. Would probably be good to warn the next tenants if you know them though! Are you planning on bringing this up with your LL?

Hahaha. I wish I can let the new tenant know. Is not only the camera, there’s a lot more. Gosh. I really hope can spread this out. I really don’t want to see the next lady to rent the same room and get the same shit like me
