Follow-ups on PR Application

Post by raptor_from_vietnam » Mon, 20 Feb 2023 10:09 am

Dear all,

My wife and I have applied for Singapore PR half a year plus ago. Our application status is still pending. Is it a good idea to write an email to follow up with ICA on the application? My wife's friend recommended us to follow up. I know 6 months is not a long enough waiting time to be anxious, but I am not sure if a follow-up email would help or hurt our chances. My wife has just received a 15% raise in her salary since the time of the application, not sure if it is something we should update ICA on.

We're from Vietnam, both PMET working on EP and have been here since secondary school. I know our chance is not great to begin with due to the ethnicity/nationality.

Best regards,
Raptor

Other people wait up to 27 months for PR result. No need to follow up with ICA for this. Just wait patiently. If you pester ICA, they will think you are being impatient and can reject PR.

15% salary increase can update inside ICA portal. There should be a few buttons to upload documents. Select the correct button to update.

Thank you for the quick response!

Can anyone confirm if I can upload additional documents after the application has been submitted? I do not see any option to submit extra documents.

If your buttons to upload documents (Eg. Address, Employment) have disappeared, it means a result is coming out soon.

At this point, I don’t think updating ICA about your salary increase will matter if they have already made a decision.

However, if you are still adamant about letting ICA know about the pay increase, email [email protected] together with your payslip to notify them.

Do not email the ICA unless you have something pertinent to add or they've requested additional information from you. Give them time, they are processing a truckload of applications every day so you have to be patient. Don't get stressed out.

Exactly. I like to think that even though the ICA is a faceless entity, the people reading applications are real people. Irritate them, and they will react accordingly.
