I just think it's odd that all the names seem foreign, not just one out of many local names.sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Thu, 30 Mar 2023 5:07 pmOriginal researchers here also included Raffles (Sir), Marshall, and a host of others with Malay, Indian, Israeli, Armenian and other names from around the world who made this island home. Just look at the streets named after them. Just like my family name is growing here. was only me when I arrived on these shores. now there are half a dozen here.
All can be researchers.
Not wrong, they didn't use the word Singaporeans, but rather Singapore so there technically is no issue with misrepresentation there.sundaymorningstaple wrote: ↑Fri, 31 Mar 2023 12:46 amThey could be PRs. For jingoism PR is as good as a SGC.
Another proof of how careful we have to be with articles from the internet. There are many wrong interpretations, fake news and half-knowledge people who think they know it all. Usually I try to find 2 or more sources for one astonishing news in order to check if the text is true. Anyways I love how powerful AI became and what cool results it can deliver us.tiktok wrote: ↑Wed, 29 Mar 2023 9:45 pmhttps://theindependent.sg/singapore-res ... re-of-rna/
Headline: Singapore researchers develop AI-based method to reveal molecular architecture of RNA
A totally wrong summary of the work which is more about using AI to predict changes in AI. The "molecular architecture" of RNA has been known for many decades. And the jingoism "Singapore researchers" is probably misleading when the researchers names are Hendra, Pratanwanich, and Göke.
You mean double helix structure?tiktok wrote: ↑Wed, 29 Mar 2023 9:45 pmhttps://theindependent.sg/singapore-res ... re-of-rna/

I don't see the names in the article so can not check within the context, but it seems fair generalization. It is always a team work and even if those mentioned above are not true-blue Singaporeans I am very sure many Singaporeans contributed some way to this very research.
Nope, not really. RNA has zillions of different structures including double helix, so I simply wonder what is in your opinion known for X0 years.
