Working in home country while holding EPASS

Post by anouk.naaktgeboren » Thu, 09 Feb 2023 3:55 pm

Hi Everyone,

I currently hold an Epass and planning to work in my home country for 8 months due to company expansion.

My questions are:
1. Is it possible to hold my pass while working in my home country for 8 months? Is there a maximum number of months to be outside SG while holding a work visa?
2. Will i pay my tax in Sg or my home country since I’m technically employed by my employer in SG working overseas?
3. Do we need to inform MOM regarding the change?

1. You doesn't need to be in SG while working for SG company with EP but when applied for EP renewal you must be in SG.
2. Pay to SG for sure. For you country tax please check the details with your country.
Example of my country law I don't need to pay tax if
1. My company doesn't have branch in my country or do business with local.
2. If I stay longer than 180 days a year, I can't transfer any money making from the same year back. else TAX
3. Please update your "real" address to MOM

I did stay outside SG during covid for more than a year. No problem at all.
